Xiaomi redmi note 8 review

Xiaomi redmi note 8 review

There is no doubt that Xiaomi's Redmi Series is quite popular in India.
Xiaomi's Redmi series was first launched with a budget or, say, low-cost smartphone, but now the series also includes high-end devices such as the Redmi K20 Pro.
'Smart Desh Smartphone' Redmi 7A (Review) was launched three months ago with a price of Rs 5,999, but surprisingly, Xiaomi has launched the upgrade version of Redmi 7A in the market in just a few months.
The new model of Xiaomi is Redmi 8A.  The new Redmi 8A has been launched with a USB Type-C port and a large 5,000 mAh battery.
Is Redmi 8A the best budget smartphone?  Let's know about this phone.

Redmi 8A design review
On seeing the Redmi 8A at first glance, it is hard to believe that this is such an affordable smartphone.
Xiaomi has done a lot of work on the design of this device and the Redmi 8A Price in India is also less than Rs 7,000.
The Redmi 8A has a large 6.22-inch display with Waterdrop Notch on the front, remember that Xiaomi gave a 5.45-inch display in the Redmi 7A.
The earpiece has got a place in the frame of the device, all the edges of the Redmi 8A will be seen in the bezel.
Redmi 8A has a border at the bottom and you will get the Redmi logo on it.  The edges of the Xiaomi Redmi 8A are curved, which makes it easier to hold the phone in hand.
The power and volume buttons are on the right side of the phone, while the SIM tray is found on the left side of the phone.
The top and bottom of the phone is flat, in the upper part only you will get secondary microphone.
Xiaomi Redmi 8A has USB Type-C port, it is very good to get Type-C port in this price segment.

The 3.5mm headphone jack, primary microphone and loudspeaker are at the bottom of the phone.
The back panel of Redmi 8A has a single camera with LED flash.  There is no fingerprint sensor in the back of the phone.

 Redmi 8A specifications and software
Xiaomi has given HD + display with 720x1440 pixels resolution in Redmi 8A.  Corning Gorilla Glass 5 has been used for the protection of the screen.
Like the Redmi 7A, the Redmi 8A also has a Snapdragon 439 processor.  There are two variants of Xiaomi Redmi 8A, a 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant priced at Rs 6,499.

The price of 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variants of Redmi 8A is Rs 6,999.  We have the base variant of Redmi 8A for review.
Xiaomi is gradually increasing the battery capacity of its series phones.  Recall that a 3,000 mAh battery was given to Redmi 6A (Review) and now Xiaomi Redmi 8A has been launched with a 5,000 mAh battery.

For the information of you people, let us know that the Redmi 8A smartphone comes with 18W fast charging support, but Xiaomi has given a 10 W charger in the retail box.
The Redmi 8A also has two nano-SIM slots and a separate microSD card slot.  Both support SIM 4G and VoLTE, along with Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n and four satellite navigation systems.

The Redmi 8A comes with wireless FM functionality, which means you do not need to install a headset to listen to FM.
Talking about the software, Xiaomi Redmi 8A runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.  Our review unit runs on the August Security Patch.
The interface is the same as we have seen in other Xiaomi phones.

Xiaomi Redmi 8A does not have an app drawer and all app icons are placed on the home screen, the phone comes pre-installed with many bloatware including Mi Community,
Paytm, Mi Credit, Me Store, Amazon, Facebook, WPS Office, Dailyhunt, Gaana and Opera  Mini is included.  Redmi 8A will get pre-installed games like Ludo Master, Block Puzzle Guardian, Pop Shooter Blast and Dust Settle.
In addition there is an App Store named GetApps.

Like other Xiaomi smartphones, you will continue to get similar spammy notifications in Redmi 8A.
We saw advertisements while installing new applications, as well as found that stock apps like Mi Music and Mi Video also keep sending spammy notifications.  On the other hand, features like dual apps will also be available in the MIUI.

With the help of this feature, you can create two apps of supported apps.
With the help of Google digital wellbeing feature, you can monitor how you spend time on smartphone.  Instead of traditional three-button navigation, you can also use gesture navigation.
App lock is built-in in the phone, you can lock apps with the help of password or face recognition.

The handset also has a Game Speed Booster app, which has been claimed to optimize performance.  You can also disable auto-brightness and notification shade swipe gestures during gaming.

Redmi 8A performance and battery life
The Redmi 8A has good hardware that provides a good experience.  While using the phone very rarely it appears when the phone has slowed down but heavy apps take some time to load.
We have 2 GB RAM variants for review and it could not run many apps in the background.  There is no fingerprint sensor in the back of the phone but the Face Unlock feature makes the phone unlock faster.

The viewing angles of the Redmi 8A are good and the sound is louder than the speaker.  However, using the display in sunlight, it felt like it could have been a bit better.
We already have an idea of how the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor performs, as we have seen using it during the Redmi 7A (Review), so the Redmi 8A is not much different.

Redmi 8A has a large battery of 5000 mAh to make it live.  We used an active WhatsApp account during use, took some camera samples, used Google Maps for navigation for two hours, ran some benchmarks, and even after all this
, the phone battery lasted all day and at the end of the day 50 percent battery in the phone  Was still remaining.

In our HD video loop test, Xiaomi Redmi 8A supported for 16 hours and 31 minutes.
The 10 watt charger that comes with the handset charges the phone 25 percent in 30 minutes and 46 percent in an hour.
It took 2 hours and 30 minutes for the phone to be fully charged.  Let us know that the Redmi 8A smartphone supports 18W fast charging.

 Redmi 8A Camera
The single camera at the back of Xiaomi Redmi 8A is equipped with Sony IMX363 sensor.  The 12-megapixel camera sensor will be found on the back panel of the phone, its aperture is F / 1.8 and it comes with 1.4 micron pixel size and dual-pixel autofocus.
The front panel of the Redmi 8A has an 8-megapixel selfie camera, its aperture F / 2.0 and it comes with 1.12 micron pixels.

Xiaomi has used the same camera app as usual.  Apart from photo and video modes, you will get shooting modes like Portrait, Pro and Short Video.
The handset also has HDR and AI scene detection.  We found that during the day the Redmi 8A focuses faster but the speed decreases slightly in low light.
Photos taken with the Redmi 8A in sufficient light were good, zooming in sample shots reduced the detail.
During the close-up shot we found that the camera creates a good natural depth of field.  AI also works fast in the camera app, in this price segment, the photos captured from the handset captured the details correctly.

Portrait shots taken from the Redmi 8A had average edge detection, but some of our samples had slightly over-exposed backgrounds.
There was a lack of detail in low light, Redmi 8A manages noise in low light but there is a lack of sharpness in the pictures.  The detail was captured well in the selfie taken during the day and you can apply the beautification filter before taking the shot.

In low light, the photo quality is not very good because when zooming, grains are seen.  The primary camera is capable of recording video at 10
